Would This Happen To A Democrat?

You gotta hand it to Republican Governor Kristi Noem of North Dakota… She seems to be one of the few making sense of the coronavirus pandemic right now. As you wouldn’t apply the same medical treatment to every single patient, she has noticed that each state needs to be applying different treatments to the underlying issues of the virus. Each state has different needs and problems to the extent of COVID-19.

South Dakota, for example, does not have the same population density or a lot of other issues that New York has. South Dakota has a lot of spread-out population and does not carry complete reliance on public transportation as most New Yorkers do. So why would you completely destroy the state’s economy with almost no deaths? Shut everything down because you don’t trust adults to act like adults?

Kristi Noem has resisted the temptation into the wrong treatment for the virus in her state, despising leftist attacks. She did not close businesses statewide; she let individuals decide for themselves. She ordered nonessential businesses to allow employees to work from home, placed a limit on social gatherings, required restaurants to offer take-out options only, and instructed people over the age of 60 and other vulnerable groups to take extreme precautions throughout the epidemic. Then, as usual, the Left (specifically Washington Post) wrote an article claiming South Dakota to have “one of the largest coronavirus hotspots” and that the Governor was “resisting” stay-at-home orders. The article was retweeted by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Jake Tapper, Norman Ornstein, and many others.

This article was complete and utter balderdash. South Dakota had 868 cases, mostly concentrated in one county and at the Smithfield plant. It actually made it one of the places with the fewest cases in the whole country, unlike New York with over 300,000 cases. Fact checkers were attacked by Twitter users when this information came out. People began mocking Glenn Kessler and others who had reposted the Washington Post article asking when “the big surge” was going to happen in South Dakota.

To this day, it is still one of the states with the fewest cases and the fewest deaths. It now has only 21 deaths, according to Worldometers, only five states are better than that, places like Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii, North Dakota, and Alaska. They are the lowest unemployment rate in the nation, no lockdown, and still managing their cases.

The folks of South Dakota are so incredibly proud and appreciative of their Governor that they threw her a parade, organized by John Morris of Morris Inc. construction company, joined by hundreds of cars, including fire trucks and other vehicles honking their horns and sirens. Noem was surprised at the honking not knowing what it was all about. But when she was told, she began to tear up. What a touching moment for Governor Kristi Noem.

She tweeted the following: “I am so blessed to serve the people of the great State of South Dakota. You folks made my day!” Despite the media scrutiny, her state has applauded her. If It were a Democrat re-opening their state, the media would cheer and hand out a gold sticker for a job well done. Because it’s a Republican, she is apparently threatening the health of everyone, being that she wants everyone back at work and supporting American families.

As far as I’m concerned, Noem has already passed the most important test for any political candidate: fealty to the constitution and protection of her constituents’ given rights. She respects the people’s constitutional rights more than power and attention, and the majority of the nation’s left-wing governors and political figures could learn a thing or two from her.
