What Rep. Boebert Did For The Second Amendment

Rep. Lauren Boebert, the co-chair of the House of Representative’s Second Amendment Caucus, has been granted a concealed carry permit, saying she wanted to be her own security in dangerous Democrat-run D.C. The 5-foot, 100-pound congresswoman said she will remain armed while serving at the U.S Capitol and is also helping some of her colleagues proudly receive this permit as well.

While members are allowed to carry handguns on Capitol grounds, the Colorado Republican went viral after releasing an ad showing her walking around while appearing to carry a handgun. She said in the video that she would be carrying her Glock in D.C. and in Congress, noting that the government does not get to tell her or her constituents how they are allowed to keep their families safe.

“As we do with all our permits, if citizens are allowed to carry, then we grant them a permit. In this case, she was allowed to carry and she was granted a permit. And yes, we did reach out to the office,” said Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee after being asked about Boebert.

Rep. Boebert was recently denied entrance to the House Chamber after setting off a suddenly installed metal detector in the U.S Capitol. They were installed, per request by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, at entrances to the House Floor shortly after Boebert said she would bring her Glock into the chamber, alarming Democrats. Some of her Republican colleagues were walking around the detectors while others breezed right through.

Pelosi’s decision to “protect us from our own colleagues” was just another act of political correctness run amok, sparking recent debate about whether legislators had the right to carry firearms in the building. Rep. Massie cited the part of the Constitution and fought to preserve a 1967 rule that allows lawmakers to be armed for self-defense. Congress members are allowed to store their firearms in their offices and transport them as long as they are not loaded. They are not allowed to carry them into the House Chamber.

Pelosi, however, suggested that House Members who carry guns for self-defense are the “enemy within.” When Breitbart’s Joel Pollak asked Pelosi to elaborate, she simply said that there are some members who want to carry guns, like Rep. Boebert who carries one legally. According to the radical left, if you want to exercise your 2nd Amendment rights, then you’re just another “enemy.”

Rep. Thomas Massie, the other co-chair of the Second Amendment Caucus, talked about how comforting it was to be armed following the January 6. Capitol Riots. The violent crime problem has spiked in D.C and Americans need a way to protect themselves the next time a group of rioters strikes.

“The next member who argues Congressmen shouldn’t be allowed to carry firearms at work needs to be laughed out of the Capitol. Several of us were glad to be armed while barricaded for hours in our offices with our staff,” Massie said.

Democrats have drafted a world where people aren’t held accountable for their violent actions. If you’ve ever questioned how Democrats felt about you protecting your family, the first few weeks of the 117th Congress just confirmed that.
