The Most Important Election Yet

Once Joe Biden announced Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate for the upcoming 2020 election, it didn’t take long for the media to gaslight Americans into believing that this was the best decision Biden’s made in a long time, solidifying his position among centrist voters and even moderate Republican voters.

Even the New York Times characterized Harris as a “pragmatic moderate” who shares center-left politics with Biden. Yet the history of Harris’s voting record in the U.S Senate, as well as the policies she has proposed, shares anything but moderate.

Through a detailed assessment by Voteview, Harris has held a voting record farther left than 97% of Democrats in the 116th Senate. She even ranks more liberal than Sen. Bernie Sanders, which we all know is hard to beat. She also plays the most liberal voting record in the chamber aside from Sen. Elizabeth Warren. So no, I wouldn’t really call Harris a person who shares a “center-left” political playing field. From the reports, she is anything but.

There’s also the issue of national healthcare. Harris is one of the few politicians who is in favor of government-run health-care plans, including the coverage of illegal immigrants. She has even compared U.S immigration and Customs Enforcement officers to members of the Ku Klux Klan for simply doing their job and enforcing the law.

Along with liberal blood running through her veins and outrageous ideas on healthcare, Harris also co-sponsored the utterly insane Green New Deal, which has socialism written all over it. “I support a Green New Deal. Climate change is an existential threat to all of us, and we have got to deal with the reality of it,” she tweeted.

The Green New Deal, introduced by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, details a number of goals for the United States with a focus not only on the environment, but also on economic reform. The bill, only 14 pages, talks about economic and social issues which have little to no correlation with environmental issues. This bill was less about climate change, and more about social justice ideas.

Another issue with the bill is its stance on nuclear energy, which has the lowest emissions per unit of energy for any source of energy. The plan includes transitioning off of all nuclear and fossil fuels as soon as possible. As we all know, nuclear energy is both beneficial and renewable, unlike other alternatives such as solar and wind energy. While these seem like good options, they also provide an incredible amount of waste in their production.

The bill comes off as a radical socialist whose ideas are based on political agenda, rather than objective truth.

Harris has also advocated her “Climate Plan For the People” that converts the entire nation to 100% carbon-neutral electricity by 2030. This calls for all new buildings to be carbon-neutral as well. The estimated costs for these projects were never disclosed.

Besides all of this, Harris has only received a whopping 844 total votes in the entire 2020 Democratic Primary process. You would think by the way the media has covered her in support that she would be close to accomplishing something within her Party.

The odds are greater than normal that Harris may be called to fulfill the primary duties. As Biden collapses into cognitive decline, more and more media outlets are looking to her in the Presidential role. She has become a greater threat than Biden.

This November will give the Americans a chance to reject the radical left and the threats she poses. We must vote accordingly and dodge a rough blow to the political agendas Harris and Biden have at hand. If not, we may be in for more than we bargained.
