The mainstream media is doing everything they can to demonize Republican candidate Larry Elder in California’s recall election against Gov. Gavin Newsom. He is leading the polls in being the likely replacement for Gov. Newsom, who is facing a recall on September 14. He would be the state’s first Black governor, but Democrats aren’t too keen on him being a Republican.
Everyone is criticizing Elder for being both Black and Republican, including actor and director Rob Reiner. Reiner recently appeared on MSNBC’s “TheReidOut” and called out Elder as a crazy man who is “way to the right” of former president Donald Trump. He even accused the candidate of brandishing a gun at his girlfriend. The more they insult Elder, the more likely he is to win. He must be doing something right if he’s getting Joy Reid fired up more than Trump.
“He says black people are more racist than white people. He says he doesn’t believe sanctuary laws or citizenship for DREAMers should be happening. He is against in-state tuition, healthcare, and driver’s licenses for the undocumented. He opposes birthright citizenship. He wants to get rid of that. He objects to cashless bail. We can go on and on and on,” said host Joy Reid.
Reiner agreed and said that Republicans can’t win on policies alone. He said that the only way they know how to get power is through “voter suppression” or “tricks with the recall.” As usual, requiring a valid ID to vote is considered “racist” to Democrats (even though a vaccine passport is not). Reiner called Larry Elder “crazy” and said Republicans are trying to conquer California because it is the “biggest prize of any blue state in the country.”
Even The Los Angeles Times published a piece that would be deemed racist in any other situation. They accused Larry Elder of promoting white supremacy and even headlined the article: “Larry Elder is the Black Face of White Supremacy. You’ve Been Warned.” Yes, that’s the actual LA Times Headline.
Article writer Erika D. Smith wrote that polls showed nearly half of the California voters supporting the Newsom recall, with Elder in the lead to replace him. She writes that ignoring the “self-proclaimed Sage from South-Central” is no longer a viable strategy.
Co-founder of Black Lives Matter Los Angeles Melina Abdullah said Elder was a “clear and present danger,” particularly for Black people. Elder has consistently mocked and ridiculed Critical Race Theory, emphasizing how it will not be taught in the classrooms. State Sen. Sydney Kamlager went so far as saying she’s “not interested in going back to Jim Crow because I want to have a Black person as governor.” Yikes. Democrats continue to show just how truly racist they are. They have focused so much on Larry Elder’s skin color that they haven’t even mentioned his qualifications or why so many people want him to replace the current governor.
Times columnist Jean Guerrero even compared Elder to white supremacist David Duke earlier this year. She then got mad at Elder’s team for refusing to answer a question from her for an editorial interview.
Elder had been participating in an online interview with the editorial board Los Angeles Times when moderator Sewell Chan invited columnist Guerrero on for a question. Press secretary Ying Ma objected to her participation and said she would not accept questions from someone who described Larry Elder as a “Black David Duke.” Guerrero also claimed that Elder had sanitized Duke’s racist ideas for “the Trump era’s most toxic figures and ideas.”
Elder told Fox News ‘Hannity’ that he’s not surprised by the LA Times article and acknowledged that most people don’t enter politics because it is the “politics of self-destruction.” He said it’s not the first time that the LA Times has gone after him, adding that he’s had difficulties even getting his name on the ballot. The state claimed he hadn’t paid around 5 years’ worth of taxes and he ended up suing. He had also been accused of hating women, as well as aiming a firearm at an ex-girlfriend.
It never ends and it only means Elder is doing something right. California Democrats are scared to death (and they should be).
