Sen. Kyrsten Sinema has been making headlines over the last few weeks for being one of the two Democrats, along with Sen. Joe Manchin, to firmly oppose the spending packages being proposed in the House. Without Manchin and Sinema’s votes, the legislation would not pass and President Joe Biden would not be able to tout more parts of his Build Back Better Agenda, despite reports that it would threaten the middle class, destroy small businesses, and increase the cost of living for all residents.
Democrats have gotten so angry at Sinema over refusing to bend a knee to the woke mob that immigration activists even followed her to the bathroom from the classroom where she teaches at Arizona State University. They were demanding she take action to support Biden’s Build Back Better agenda and its legislation, adding that this is the only way to take action on a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.
“We knocked on doors for you to get you elected. Just how we got you elected, we can get you out of office if you don’t support what you promised us. We need the Build Back Better plan right now,” one activist said, following Sinema into the bathroom.
According to the video footage, Sinema was leaving her classroom and followed into the bathroom. She did not engage with any of the activists in a discussion and, instead, ignored the group and exited the stall after washing her hands.
Another activist had been speaking to her at the time, adding that she had been brought here when she was three years old and both of her grandparents got deported in 2010 because of the S.B. 1070. She said she is there because they need a pathway to citizenship.
Many people have called out the incident, including Meghan McCain who wrote ironically that “harassing someone in the bathroom is really a way to be heard and taken seriously.” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw wrote that “only in America” would an illegal immigrant attending a taxpayer-funded university chase a US senator into the bathroom to harass and brag about it publicly.
“Seriously, if an American went to any foreign country and tried something like this, they would be arrested and deported. And that would be fair. Also, the illegal immigration activists in this video are saying that they knocked on doors to get Sinema elected in the first place. How is that NOT foreign election interference, if they aren’t citizens? Did they vote?” Pushaw asked.
Political commentator Carolina McCarthy also emphasized that she doesn’t care how much a person sucks as a human being. “Following anyone into a bathroom and recording them is disgusting, intrusive, and creepy. Do not normalize this behavior,” she tweeted.
Sinema isn’t the only one getting harassed by far-left activists. Activists have also gotten in kayaks and rowed up to Manchin’s houseboat with signs that read “Don’t sink our health care” and “No climate no deal.” Manchin told media sources that the activists have been protesting outside the boat all week to urge him to support Biden’s Build Back Better agenda.
Manchin said he agreed with activists on many things, including taxing the rich, but that he disagrees on the price tag of the package. In newly leaked documents, there is even an agreement between Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. Manchin that the bill would not surpass a topline of $1.5 trillion. Meanwhile, Democrats continue to push for the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package.
We live in a world where freely harassing lawmakers and demanding your own benefits is normalized and with total impunity from removal. And with Sinema’s personality, the bullying will not work on her. If anything, it will make her stand stronger in the position of voting against the liberal-washed bill.
