In a recent Under the Skin podcast episode with journalist Glenn Greenwald, British comedian and actor Russell Brand was critical of mainstream media and Big Tech platforms for how they’ve handled the New York Post’s Hunter Biden story back in 2020. He said that the censorship of the news story by social media platforms was more distressing than the news story itself – and that it was all designed to influence the election. The video garnered more than 100,000 views in less than 24 hours as Brand talked about one of the largest scandals that never reached a broader public view.

While Brand declares that he is no conservative and does not align himself with “Trump or Giuliani kinda media establishments,” he says there are serious questions to be raised about the foreign payments to Joe Biden’s son and that it was concerning how suppressed the New York Post’s story on it was. The New York Post had their Twitter account suspended for 16 days over the news story and Facebook cracked down on users’ ability to share content related to the energy board Burisma, the Biden family’s Ukraine dealings, or the Hunter Biden laptop.

“However, it seems to me that – what reason is Hunter Biden sat on the board of an energy company in Ukraine? What reason is James Biden sat on the board, or receiving payments from an energy company in China? We’re talking about sleaze, corruption, financial misdemeanors, and relationships between corporations, big business, and politicians. So, let’s face it: unless you’re bloody stupid, you know that’s going on all the time,” Brand said.

He said that the financial connections between the energy companies in Ukraine and China with the Biden family are “troubling” and should be public knowledge. But Brand found it even more troubling than the media was deliberately keeping it out of the news because they didn’t want it to influence the election.

Brand told Greenwald that the information was stifled because it didn’t suit the “three pillars of power,” which were the Democrats, media, and social media. He said that Democrats conspired to keep information away because it was not convenient to their agenda. This is very similar to what author Alex Marlow exposed in his bestselling book “Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption.”

Marlow’s book talked about how some of the most powerful people in the world are anonymous and turn the dials up or down on the flow of critical information the American people need to make decisions in the presidential race. He said that the suppression of negative Biden stories and positive Trump stories was designed to misinform the public and damage Trump’s reelection campaign.

Brand also said that people should stop pretending that politicians are aspiring to anything other than the advance of their own interests and get helped by a few people along the way. He suggests that democracy has become “We want you to vote for this person. We don’t want you to vote for that person.”

Meanwhile, it’ll be interesting to see how long the Russell Brand video is left up online before Youtube restricts it…or before Russell Brand gets “canceled.” There’s always some sort of repercussions for publicly going against the ‘woke’ liberal mob.
