Twitter blacklisted Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal account over the New Year’s weekend. Rep. Greene responded to the ban by saying that Twitter was an enemy of America and couldn’t handle the truth. “That’s fine. I’ll show America that we don’t need them. It’s time for us to defeat our enemies.”

Rep. Greene is the Republican member with the most social media followers of any Republican member. Before her ban, she had more than 465,000 Twitter followers. This means that the Republican party and the conservative movement have lost one of the most influential accounts on Twitter.

Twitter did not identify any tweets that were in violation of its terms of service. Instead, it told the media that the ban was triggered by repeated violations of COVID-19 misinformation policies. This far-left Silicon Valley firm has temporarily suspended Rep. Greene’s personal account on several other occasions but frequently claimed these incidents were simply mistakes.

Rep. Greene responded to the ban by saying that “Twitter” is an enemy of America and couldn’t handle the truth. “That’s fine. I’ll show America that we don’t need them. It’s time for us to defeat our enemies.” Georgia’s representative claims she was banned from tweeting statistics about the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. Rep. Greene still can access her Twitter professional account, @RepMTG with over 390,000.

Gab released a statement praising Rep. Greene’s visionary approach to setting up an account on the free-speech platform before she was banned from Twitter.

Andrew Torba, Gab founder and CEO, said that Congresswoman Greene was smarter than many of her coworkers because she started on Gab over a whole year ago and built up an incredible following of hundreds and thousands of people.
