Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany recently pointed out why President Joe Biden hasn’t been able to address the “root causes” behind Cuban protests.
McEnany shared on Fox News “Outnumbered” that Biden and other administration officials could not use the word “communism” or “socialism” in their response to Cuban cries for freedom without upsetting members of the Democratic Party. Many members have viewed socialism or socialist policies favorable including Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and other members of “The Squad.”
“Outnumbered” co-host Harris Faulker first mentioned to McEnany that Biden called the protests in Cuba a “clarion call for freedom” while Sanders and AOC continue to lean more into blaming the US embargo for the Cuba crisis. McEnany said this is exactly why Biden wasn’t using the word “communism” and that we’ve seen him “kowtow” to the far left on every step of the way.
“They continually bow down to the farthest left flank of their party and it’s intolerable to have Senator Sanders who once praise the regime in Cuba, praised the Cuban revolution, all the other horrible things we’ve heard him and others say as recently as the last presidential election when he praised their literacy program and did not call the atrocities — adequately enough in my mind — did not call the atrocities of Fidel Castro and Raul Castro’s government,” McEnany said.
McEnany went on to say that the Democrats needed to focus on the deeply rooted disease of communism rather than the “economic mismanagement” in the country, as well as a lack of vaccines. She said they can point to the symptoms all they want but that nothing is going to get done until they look at the “root causes.”
McEnany’s play of the phrase “root causes” also mocks Vice President Kamala Harris’s insistence on handling the “root causes” of the border crisis as far away from the border as she can. Dems just dance in word circles all day.
McEnany said that communism is a “failed ideology” and that it shouldn’t have taken the Biden Administration five days to denounce communism. She said that three press briefings were passed with a refusal to denounce communism and that it was on the fourth press conference that they finally said something. Fox News reporter Peter Doocy had pressed White House press secretary Jen Psaki on the White House’s refusal to denounce communism.
“Why did it take a fever pitch of criticism from the right and probably some in their own party as well, internally, to get on what is a common-sense message? Biden had a choice: ‘Do I want to side with the Menendez wing of my party, a very small group, or do I want to side with AOC, BLM, and put my arms around the Cuban dictatorship?’ He chose the former. Never forget it, because it took five days to get to this point,” McEnany said.
McEnany also called out Biden’s child tax credit and said that the universal $250 monthly payments per child are just another reason for people to not go back to work.
McEnany explained that it’s “debt on debt on debt” because they are in a situation where they don’t have workers to fill the jobs because checks are being written in COVID-19 relief. She adds that excessive welfare without work requirements is where the country can slip into really dangerous territory.
Democrats have engaged in a slow slide into communism and it was not long ago that some members started embracing communism as their favorite form of government. The White House needs to stop issuing executive orders and convincing members of the party that they are pushing the United States in that exact direction. Actions speak louder than words and the White House has shown which way they want the tide to go.
