In one of the closest battles for a Congress seat, New York Democrats continue to face voter fraud accusations after a number of uncounted ballots were “discovered” that completely erased one Republican candidate’s lead over her Democratic competitor. 13 to be exact.
Election night began with Democratic Rep. Anthony Brindisi trailing Republican attorney Claudia Tenney by over 28,000 votes. As the mail-in ballots poured in, he started to trail Tenney by just 100-200 votes. Oswego County state Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte then intervened and started to “review” spoiled ballots (that had been previously rejected) and found enough ballots to give Brindisi the lead by 13 votes.
“This process and the integrity of our election are critical to our republic. This judicial review has been fair, open, honest, and transparent and I remain confident that voters’ voices will be heard. In January I will be sworn in and continue to work with both parties and stand up to anyone on behalf of all of New York’s 22nd district,” Brindisi tweeted, declaring victory.
The Tenney campaign isn’t calling this a victory for the left quite yet. Campaign spokesperson Sean Kennedy said that Governor Cuomo’s unfair law changes and administrative burdens affected ballots when they were challenged in the election. Hundreds of ineligible ballots were cast by the dead, non-residents, or unregistered voters. He also said his team will fight to ensure that every legal and proper ballot will be preserved.
The campaign spokesperson talked about the current state of the congressional races. The court has established that the current tally includes invalid votes and fractured ballots.
“Our team will fight to ensure the rights of every voter who cast a legal and proper ballot are preserved and not diluted. We cannot sacrifice accuracy for speed. When that is done, we feel strongly that Claudia Tenney will be certified the winner of the race for the 22nd District of New York,” said Kennedy.
Trump Organization Vice President Eric Trump pointed out on Twitter the endless pattern of Democrats “finding” ballots that favor their candidates and using a handful of those votes to change the results of the race. It is the duty of our elected officials to provide elections that are fair and transparent. Using 13 rejected ballots to change the results of a congressional race isn’t fair or transparent to anyone.
Going from winning by almost 30k votes on election night to losing by 13 doesn’t just appear out of nowhere. The vote-stealing has to stop.
