Why The Media Supports Riots

MANHATTAN, NY - JUNE 02: Protesters hold up a raised fist with the a sign behind them that says, "When They See Us" with a drawing of Africa in Washington Square Park. Protesters walked from Foley Square to Washington Square Park for a peaceful moment of reflection for those that have been killed. Protesters took to the streets across America after the killing of George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer Derek Chauvin that was kneeling on his neck during his arrest as he pleaded that he couldn't breathe. The protest are attempting to give a voice to the need for human rights for African American's and to stop police brutality against people of color. Many people were wearing masks and observing social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic. Leaders of the protest were clear that they wanted it to be a peaceful protest in light of nights of unrest looting and destruction. For more than 50 consecutive days now, Portland, Oregon has been protesting. Those protests have turned into violent riots and raged on in an escalating manner that has had President Trump looking to deploy federal officers into the city to calm the chaos.

Critics in the media have continued to defend Antifa, claiming that their protests are peaceful and only Trumps “feds” have caused the increase in violence and vandalism. For example, Chicago’s surge in gun violence has gotten to the point that just over the weekend, alone, there were dozens of shootings and at least 48 people shot, including eight fatalities.

Chicago PD has confirmed no one was arrested in connection with the crimes, reporting that several victims were younger than 18. Two fatal shootings were reported early Sunday about 20 minutes apart from each other. The numbers of shootings have doubled and murders have tripled.

It’s an atrocity that the media continues to turn a blind eye to what is destroying our communities and killing innocent people. Antifa is so clearly a terrorist organization dressing up like ISIS, attacking innocent people, and destroying property. President Trump has gone so far as to designate it as a terrorist organization for what it is, while the media still publicly defends it.

Because of the organization’s lack of structure and political communities, it lacks a stance or definition for what they actually stand for. It is defined by those who watch them, especially national media outlets, as they draw people in from the most polarizing ends of American politics.

Fuel was added to the fire when groups of left-wing activists began attacking the events and supporters of President Donald Trump during the 2016 election cycle. Antifa became a name after the 2017 rally in Charlottesville in opposition to police brutality. The group swam back around after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and other cities, looking to destroy commercial and government property side-by-side with the “peaceful” BLM activists.

The media has accused “outside agitators” for the communities destroyed during these riots when little to no evidence supports these claims. An investigation of arrest records relating to demonstrations in Minneapolis have shown that many of the individuals involved in property destruction were locals.

Much of the activity attributed to Antifa has been far more consistent with anarchy, in reference to the destruction of corporate and government property. The media has taken this to play as their headlines grab more viewers, selling extremism in all forms. From cancelling celebrities to banning brands and changing football team names, there seems to be no end goal to the madness established by the far-left. The ideologies and belief systems of the left are destructive and inherently violent. Between Chicago and Minneapolis crime rate, both under Democratic mayors, this has been proven.

As we move closer to a heavily contested presidential election, the risk of violence inspired by the media will likely rise. Why? So that the liberals can point a finger at their own damage and say “See! This is Trump’s America.” The liberal culture has been a dangerous game to play but this time they’ve really outdone themselves to try to get Trump out of office.
