President Trump is ensuring that taxpayer dollars are not wasted by liberal-washed politicians anymore. He has directed federal agencies to begin the process of finding ways to redirect funds away from “anarchist” cities to cut them from federal funding. These cities include New York, Seattle, Washington DC, and Portland.
These are cities where officials have allowed “lawless” protests and to cut police budgets amid rising violent crime rates. The five-page memo President Trump signed will not allow Federal tax dollars into cities that allow themselves to deteriorate. This is a violation of the government’s promise to protect life, liberty, and property.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, in particular, has repeatedly asked the federal government to bail out his city citing revenue losses due to COVID-19 lockdowns, even after he pulled $1 billion from the NYPD budget at the request of protesters.
Seattle’s own Mayor allowed an autonomous zone that destroyed dozens of small businesses and homes. Leaders have allowed rioters to burn businesses, threaten officials, and incite violence in the streets.
The President’s move was shortly after several federal enforcements in Democrat-run cities rejected his offer to send the National Guard and help clean the cities. This is all while those same leaders steer funds away from their own police departments amid the rising crime. At this point, the President is just ensuring our taxpayer dollars aren’t wasted on lawless mayors.
Democratic politicians who supported the protests in the beginning are now starting to try and shift their original messages, citing that violence is not warranted at all. Even Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has started shifting his views, now that the poll numbers for the left are dropping.
Russ Vought, White House budget director, has been assigned the issues regarding state funding. He will be working with Attorney General Bill Bar to create a list of cities that have permitted violence and the destruction of property without taking reasonable measures to restore law and order. Vought will also be working on restricting eligibility or disfavoring to the maximum extent permitted by law.
“As a result of these State and local government policies, persistent and outrageous acts of violence and destruction have continued unabated in many of America’s cities, such as Portland, Seattle, and New York,” the memo reads.
The left will keep doing what they always do. Slowly changing their message to fit what helps them win, and before you know it, they’ll blame everything on Trump again. It’s like clockwork.
