A court decision came in where a judge dismissed a lawsuit brought against MSNBC personality Rachel Maddow. The $10 million suit was a defamation case where Maddow slandered the network One America News and declared it an outlet of “paid Russian propaganda.” Her comment about OAN claims that the most obsequiously pro-Trump right-wing news outlets in America are literally paid Russian propaganda.
What was not properly acknowledged is that in order to evade responsibility for the case she had to take on the defense that she was not delivering fact-based news on her program. The judge agreed that was accurate. Shocker.
“Maddow had inserted her own colorful commentary into and throughout the segment, laughing, expressing her dismay (i.e., saying ‘I mean, what?’) and calling the segment a ‘sparkly story’ and one we must ‘take in stride,’” Judge Cynthia Bashant stated.
What a stance for the Liberal media to take. For Rachel Maddow to call herself a serious journalist then claim the comment was purely satirical describes the left-winged media and its inaccuracy and potentially slanderous commentary as a whole. They laugh back at everyone. “Who fact-checks jokes?” John Stewart has said once before when being caught delivering ‘facts’ that aren’t really facts at all. It’s time Liberals resort to the clown nose costume already.
Judge Cynthia Bashant also stated: “For her (Maddow) to exaggerate the facts and call OAN Russian propaganda was consistent with her tone up to that point. The Court finds a reasonable viewer would not take the statement as factual given this context.” So now we must assume that Maddow does not deliver serious news and information, thus acknowledging the “fake-news” aspect of her broadcast.
Using the term “really literally” when bashing OAN then claiming it to obviously be a joke invalidates her reputation as a whole. All of her quotes are now operating in error and it is never intended to take anything she says realistically or literally. While this is not much of a shocker, the judge playing along with her sneaky dodge of the lawsuit shows just how Democrat and corrupt the system is, as Fox News frequently absorbs charges of the same nature without the excuse of commentary/opinions granted.
To support Maddow’s claim, she had noted a Daily Beast article that claimed someone on the OAN payroll was of questionable Russian origination. This then “supported” her claim of Russian propaganda run networks but, of course, the Judge just brushed this off as a mere colorful interpretation. It’s interesting to see MSNBC, CNN, and many other left-winged media networks bashing OAN as an illegitimate participant in journalism for supporting President Trump when these exact media platforms are now being caught being illegitimate.
The Left’s own commentary is now being tongue-tied in their own fabrications which, in my opinion, is a victory for OAN. It’s time these platforms start adding their own disclaimers at the beginning of the program. Opinionated, not based on facts, and purely fake news.
