Shots were recently fired at Donald Trump supporters from an unknown vehicle as they were waving flags during a public political demonstration.
The incident occurred on a Monday evening in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The police report states that several department officers were dispatched to the area of I-77 and Sutton Road, where there were reports of shots fired in the area. It was in the midst of a political gathering when three male subjects drove by more than once, making derogatory remarks and yelling obscenities at them.
The driver of the vehicle continued yelling then extended his arm through the window, holding what appeared to be a handgun. The supporters heard shots fired before the vehicle proceeded northbound on the interstate.
State troopers in the area drove onto I-77 to locate the vehicle and found it abandoned near Gold Hill Road and Deerfield Drive.
“All of a sudden you know bang bang bang bang bang bang bang. It was ridiculous. There were kids everywhere. They drove by really slow and saw everybody, so they knew exactly who was there. If anything this energizes me more and after this incident. It’s done the same for many many people,” said Matthew Ostrowski, one of the supporters on the bridge.
The troopers also saw a second vehicle leaving the area that had people inside wearing clothing matching that of people in the first vehicle. The vehicle was stopped by nearby officers and after further investigation, two of the males were released without charges. The 23-year-old driver of the vehicle, Marquise Damarius Asomani, was taken into custody.
Asomani was charged with six counts of assault and battery, and one count each of unlawful carrying of a pistol. He was taken to the York County Detention Center and placed under a $75,000 bond.
“I think it’s sad honestly that we’re showing support for the president and you have to be nervous about somebody coming and doing this. I mean that’s just discouraging,” said Lindsey Portugal, a member of the rally organizing group.
The radical left should understand that everyone who is violent during these times needs to be held accountable. We must honor and respect the officers that protect us every day, especially in violent situations like these where children are involved. To the left, a simple difference of opinion is now an excuse to terrorize people and contribute to racism.
American citizens should feel protected during demonstrations, especially peaceful ones with children simply waving flags. It’s a shame the media continues to defend the looting and violence of BLM rioters, but won’t air a story like this. These extreme Marxist ideas of protecting our criminals have gone on far enough and sooner or later, people will start turning off the fake news.
