Reporters Grow Agitated By Biden’s Silence

Reporters continue to grow agitated and impatient with the way President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team is handling the weekly briefings on Zoom. With limited access to the President, there is a wave of concern in how reporters will get to ask the questions they want in such a short window of time.

In President-elect Biden’s Friday press briefing, reporters started using the Zoom’s chat function to pressure Biden officials into allotting them more time. “Hey guys, there are a tons of folks looking to ask questions and since this is being done once a week, could we PLEASE go longer or at least hold more frequent briefings,” Sam Stein from the Daily Beast wrote in the chat.

Biden’s transition team only called on the New York Times, CNN, Washington Post, PBS, and Politico, while ignoring questions from conservative news outlets such as Fox News and others. None of the reporters asked questions about Hunter Biden, who is currently under a federal tax investigation. He issued a statement regarding the matter:

“I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs. I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors,” Hunter Biden said.

The complexity of Hunter Biden’s international business dealings, particularly in Ukraine and China, is a direct conflict of interest given the fact that Joe was involved in a U.S policy towards Ukraine.

President-elect Biden has also been scrutinized over appointing several social media and tech employees to his transition team. There’s a level of transparency that the Biden transition team needs to have with the Americans who voted for him – and the ones who didn’t. If these accusations or questions were against President Trump or a member of his family, there would be a raging media storm.

White House reporter Andrew Feinberg also called out the Biden team and asked what’s the point in taking questions if they only call on the same small group every week. Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy pointed out that he’s never been called on in one of the press briefings, even though he has requested to ask questions before. Other reporters pleaded with the President to take more questions on the call or at least offer more briefings throughout the week.

The media created the monster, but who could be surprised by this? Biden was the guy every journalist wanted and now that guy doesn’t want them anymore. He’s got their vote. People were so focused on every single response President Trump had for a reporter that they forgot to see the kind of person Biden was. A man with no answers. Why else did he hide in a basement all summer?
