Pelosi’s Labor Day Tweet Backfires

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been called out over a tweet she posted celebrating the “hard-working families” across the U.S on Labor Day. She has already used her power and status to get her hair done in a San Francisco Salon, now this.

“Over generations, working people across America built the middle class and secured progress for hard-working families. House Democrats are unified in our commitment to America’s working families. Happy Labor Day!” Nancy Pelosi tweeted. The message was not received kindly by everyone.

The message is controversial. Pelosi recently blamed a salon owner for serving her in violation of the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions and accused the owner of setting her up. These lockdown rules, however, have disrupted the American life and devastated so many small businesses already.

After a video went viral of Pelosi getting her hair done, she explained that she was set up and takes responsibility for falling for a setup. She then went on to say that the salon owes her an apology.

Things didn’t end there for Pelosi. Her own daughter, Christine, then shared a letter from a law firm claiming that the salon owner, Erica Kious, had been illegally operating her salon all throughout the lockdown. Instead of attacking small businesses, who are already suffering as it, Pelosi just needs to admit, apologize, and get past it. It’s just taking attention away from other topics.

A GoFundMe page was set up for the salon owner, Kious, after the incident and has already raised more than $300,000 to help pay off debts and relocate the business. The salon owner thanked her supporters for their empathy and generosity amid her feud with the House Speaker.

“I am very humbled and grateful to have received such an outpouring of kindness, empathy and generosity from people I don’t even know, and from all walks of life and all sides of the political spectrum. It’s a powerful reminder that the common things that bind us all together as Americans are far more meaningful and lasting than political and ideological differences that get so much attention and focus,” Kious told Fox News.

It’s about time Pelosi stops worrying about her hair and focuses on a stimulus package based on the current conditions of America. If she wasn’t so focused on a bill that checks off all of her government pet projects, fewer people would be suffering, and maybe not as many people would even care that she got her hair done at all.

Practice what you preach, Pelosi.
