Michigan GOP senators Tom Barrett and Lana Theis have requested an election audit since issues surfaced regarding the Antrim County ballot processing problem and numerous allegations of voter fraud. The senators asked for a full audit to be completed before any results are certified by the state.

“Every citizen deserves to have faith in the integrity of the election process and its outcome. It is our responsibility, as elected public servants, to assure the people of Michigan of the process’s integrity through complete transparency and the faithful investigation of any allegations of wrongdoing, fraud, or abuse,” the letter reads.

It started out on Election Day when the Trump campaign filed a lawsuit and tried to halt vote counting in Michigan where campaign poll watchers were being denied access to witness the ballot counting process. The case was dismissed after a day by Judge Cynthia Stephens.

On Nov. 12, the Trump campaign filed a federal lawsuit in the Western District of Michigan for the harassment of Republican poll challengers and a requirement for six-feet social distancing rules, unlike Democratic poll challengers. The Trump Campaign released over 234 pages of voting irregularities in the state of Michigan. Thousands of ballots in Antrim County were wrongly counted for the opposing candidate, marking Republican votes as Democrat.

There were allegations regarding counting the same batch of ballots multiple times, instructing poll workers to backdate absentee ballots, false information used for processing ballots, accepting late ballots, duplicating ballots illegally, not asking election workers to verify voter signature, and barring Republican poll challengers from observing the ballot process.

The letter talks about the integrity of an election and how it deserves our full attention. With a diligent investigation by the Trump campaign, the American people can be ensured a fair and transparent election process. There have been too many cases of voter fraud already in Democrat-run cities over the last few months.

The letter was sent to the Michigan Secretary of State, Joselyn Benson, and urged her to conduct the audit before the State Board of Canvassers certifies the 2020 election results. This verifies both a properly administered election process and clears the state from any allegations of wrongdoing, fraud, or abuse. The voters of Michigan deserve to know the truth of their election results after too many “technical” errors and whistleblowers coming forward.

Let the audit stand the test and prove whether or not the results of Michigan are legitimate. More politicians need to ensure transparency and restore confidence in the voting process to protect our freedom. Republican politicians are keeping up the fight, but the truth always comes out.
