One of the original leaders of the #MeToo movement, Rose McGowan, has called out Sen. Kamala Harris for previously accepting donations from convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein. The same day that Harris was named as Biden’s VP pick, McGowan asked if she would be returning the money that was given to her by Weinstein.
This all started when Washington Post political reporter, Matt Viser, tweeted some old political donation graphics, sharing that President Trump had donated $6,000 to Harris’ re-election campaign for California attorney general between 2011 and 2013. His daughter, Ivanka Trump, had also donated $2,000 to the Harris campaign back in 2014.
This was during the period Harris was running for attorney general and she was supposedly “tough on crime,” which is a major spin from the radical left views she has been preaching lately. People were dissing President Trump for sending checks to Harris’s campaigns, even though it was Harris, herself, who still greedily cashed them.
This was all before she went on stage with prosecutorial chops during the Trump Impeachment trial, claiming how unfit he was for the role. But hey, some people don’t have basic morality when it comes to a cost/benefit analysis.
McGowen retweeted the Harris statistics with her own caption. “Did you return the money Weinstein gave you? @SenKamalaHarris How many predators bankroll you?” She wrote.
The money received, $5,000, had been donated to the Equal Rights Advocates, a women’s rights organization based In California. Harris is not the first politician to receive money from Weinstein. Others include Sen. Chuck Schumer, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Sen. Cory Booker, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Weinstein became a political liability overnight. Still creepy…everyone knew. The proof is right there.
Stories came out that Weinstein gave more than $1.4 million in political contributions since the 1992 election cycle, virtually all of it to Democratic lawmakers, candidates, and their allies. He had been a fixture among Democratic supporters, Harris being one of them. This is embarrassing for a party that touts itself as pushing progressive policies for women.
McGowan has also called out the Democrats for inviting former President Bill Clinton to speak at the 2020 Democratic National Convention, claiming that the party does not support survivors. This statement was delivered after unsealed court documents revealed that the former President had visited Jeffrey Epstein’s private island.
Mind you, Harris still hasn’t commented on any of the allegations made by Tara Reade, a former staffer who claims Biden sexually assaulted her.
All of this just shows that Harris, along with the rest of the Democrats, do not even follow the agendas they propose. They say whatever puts the most money in their pockets. It’s all about sinking to a new low for more power, status, and money. It’s despicable. McGowan must be realizing that the Democrats did not actually care for the #MeToo movement. It’s just another trend in their marketing playbook.
